What is a Surveyor?

A man in any field develops his own special traits and your local Land Surveyor is no exception. A Surveyor is found; lining up, putting on, measuring from, connecting to, leveling with and adjusting for. His wife tolerates him, little boys follow him, but it takes Heaven to stop him.
A surveyor is a paradox....he designs multi-lot Subdivisions in an office often too small and stuffy for his daughter to do homework...can't remember his wife's birthday but can tell you how many square feet are in John Smith's lot. He manages more capital than most men in town, but he can't help his wife balance the food budget.
He's an organizer who files by pile...a crew boss who can't manage his kids...a psychology expert with a few strange traits of his own. He likes sunshine, new trucks, good food, "hard workers", satisfied customers, short cuts, long days and above all a customer who wants quality instead of a bargain.
He's not much for sick crew members, rain in the heart of the day, broken down survey trucks, 8 hour days, cleaning up his desk or throwing out blueprints. Nobody else is so close to God or so far from a telephone. You can reduce his potential, but you can't reduce his ambition.
Support your local surveyor...he is your friend, your competitor, your customer, your confidant, your source of new ideas for a better way of life. He is your countryman...a denim dressed, business-wise, fast growing statesman of stature. And when he comes home in the evening, having spent the energy of his hopes and dreams, he can be recharged anew with a telephone call..."start surveying anytime, our loan has been approved and we close in 2 weeks!"
